Eid Leave Application

Published: 1 Aug 2025

Eid is a happy day for all Muslims. People offer special prayers, visit family, and eat different foods. Many students and workers take a small break so they can enjoy these moments at home. To take this break the right way, they write an Eid leave application.

This is a short, respectful note where you ask for a few days off. You give a reason, mention the dates, and request leave politely. It helps your teacher or boss understand your plan. And it keeps everything clear—no confusion, no mix-up. Whether you study or work, this short note helps you enjoy Eid without any worries.

In this blog, you’ll learn how to write a good Eid leave application with real examples, simple tips, and common mistakes to avoid.

When Do  You Need an Eid Leave Application?

You need an Eid leave application when you want to take a break for Eid al-Fitr or Eid al-Adha. These two days are special for Muslims. People pray, meet their families, and enjoy food together. Writing a leave application helps you take time off in a proper way. To join these events peacefully, you must ask for leave in advance.

Who Needs?

  • Teachers may also want time off during Eid.
  • Office workers ask for leave to attend Eid prayers or travel home
  • Government or private staff request leave if Eid days don’t fall under official holidays.

How Many Days Should You Ask For?

It depends on your school or workplace rules. Some people ask for 1 day, others ask for 2 or 3 days.

Example:

If Eid is on 11 March, you might ask for leave from 10 March to 12 March and join back on 13 March.

Why It’s Good to Apply Early

  • Shows respect and planning.
  • Helps teachers or managers manage work.
  • Increases the chance your leave will be accepted.

Key Parts of a Good Eid Leave Application.

A good Eid leave application is short, clear, and polite. It tells the reason for leave and the days you will be away. When you write it properly, it shows respect and makes it easy for the Sir or boss to approve your leave.

Here are the main key parts of a good leave application.

  1. Greetings.

Guys greeting is the first line of your leave application. It shows how respectfully you request your boss to leave. My dear, remember one thing: a polite greeting is always effective and leaves a better impression on your boss.

It will not be wrong to say that a good greeting sets the tone of your entire application, that you value professionalism and respect. So try to always start with formal words like;

  • Dear sir
  • Respected madam
  • Dear manager and
  • Respected Principal

If you know the person’s name, it would be even better to write his/her name like

  • Dear Sir Muneer Ahmed
  • Respected Principal of Punjab College, Alina Shah
  • Dear Manager, Sir Ali Jan, and so on.

2 Reasons for leaving.

The reason for leave tells the reader why you are asking for time off. In an Eid leave application, you just need to ask for leave in a simple and respectful way.

Say that you want to take off to celebrate Eid — that’s enough.

It shows you’re honest and polite.  A good reason helps your teacher, principal, or boss understand your request quickly.

If the reason is unclear or missing, your leave request may be delayed or rejected. That’s why writing a clear reason is an important part of any leave application.

3 leave dates.

Leave dates show exactly when you want to take off from school, college, or work. In an Eid leave application, this part is very important because it helps the reader know how many days you need.

You should write both the start date and the end date clearly. This removes any confusion. It also helps your teacher or boss plan things while you are away.

If you forget to mention dates, your leave request may be delayed or not approved. So always write the dates properly. It shows that you are serious and well-planned.

4. Return date

The return date tells the reader when you will come back to school or work. Adding a return date shows that you are a responsible person and helps your teacher, manager, and colleagues to plan accordingly.

The return date also shows that you can do something, and also want to do that with your commitment. It reflects your dedication to your duties and tells others that you will come back and continue your work or studies with the same previous energy. So at the end, adding the valid return date builds trust and shows that you take your work seriously.

And that’s said!

5 Thank you note.

The thank you note comes at the end of your leave application. It shows that you are polite and grateful. When you say thank you, Sir, it leaves a good impression on the reader.

This part may be short, but it matters a lot. It shows respect for the person who will approve your leave. It also makes your message sound kind and well-mannered.

Even if your request is short, never forget to say thank you, Sir. It closes your application in a friendly and respectful way.

6 Name and details.

The name and details come at the end of your Eid leave application. This part tells the reader;

  • Who you are
  • What’s your seat number
  • And class.

If you are a student, you will need to write

  • Your full name
  • Class and
  • Seat number

On the other hand, if you work in an office, you will need to write

  • Your full name and
  • Job title

This makes your application clear and complete.

Without your name and details, the reader may not know who sent the request. So always end your application with this important information
